The Quarter Mile Foundation used the gathering of drag racing and automotive aftermarket pioneers surrounding the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame induction dinner on March 14, 2013 at the Paramount Plaza Hotel & Suites in Gainesville, Fla. to add 15 interviews for the PROJECT 1320 documentary.
Foundation Chairman Traci Hrudka said, “The International Drag Racing Hall of Fame Induction Dinner was an ideal venue to increase our inventory of interviews of the legends of drag racing and the automotive aftermarket. The inductees and their presenters are legends. Additionally, many of the previously inducted members of the Hall attend the event. This made it a perfect place to get the stories and observations of these greats for the PROJECT 1320 documentary. We were able to interview a cross section of racers, team owners, performance industry figures, announcers, journalists, track operators and crew chiefs that reach from the very early days of the sport and industry to the present day.”
“We are very grateful to the management of the Paramount Plaza for providing the Foundation with a meeting room to film the interviews for two days. We also appreciate the assistance of Donna Garlits, General Manager of the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing, in providing contact information and logistical aid. ”
