Coming Soon: Garlits ‘Rat Roast’ DVD video!

Parma Heights, Ohio (DATE) – The Quarter Mile Foundation has announced that a 90 minute DVD video of the Don Garlits 80th Birthday “Rat Roast”, presented by the National Hot Rod Association, and benefitting the Quarter Mile Foundation, is in the editing stages. The DVDs are scheduled to be released in mid-March.

The video will give racing fans the opportunity to watch Jerry “The King” Ruth, “TV Tommy” Ivo, Dave McClelland, Ed “The Master” Pink, Ed “The Camfather” Iskenderian, Sid Waterman and Don “The Snake” Prudhomme grill “Big Daddy” and then watch the “Large Father” return the heat to his buddies. The roast, which was held on February 11 during NHRA Winternationals at Pomona, Calif. before a sell-out crowd saw stories confirmed, rumors debunked and new facts uncovered about “Big Daddy’s” 56 year career.

The evening was further highlighted with Bob Frey, the Master of Ceremonies, providing his own special zingers to roastee, roasters and members of the audience alike. There was also a special moment when another legend, Linda Vaughn took the mic and dressed as Marilyn Monroe, sang a very sultry “Happy Birthday” to Don.

PRE-RELEASE orders can be made by visiting the Quarter Mile Foundation website at www.PROJECT1320.com. The DVDs are priced at $20.00 each, plus $5.35 shipping/handling (US only). Payment can be made with PayPal, VISA, MasterCard or Discover.
